GDP Technical Requirements

Since GDP11 is 100% online, there are very few actual requirements to run GDP11 successfully.

Minimum System Requirements for GDP11:

Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 or 8
    IE7-IE10 or Firefox 3.5+
512 MB RAM is required, 1GB+ is recommended
    1GHz+ processor
Adobe Flash Player v10+ (Flash Player v10.1 highly recommended)
Screen resolution of 1024px x 768px or higher
Microsoft Word 2007, 2010, 2013, or 2016 (depending on which version of the program your school has adopted)
    Hi-speed Internet access

** Edge Browser - It is currently not an officially supported browser.  We are going through extensive testing on it. **

Note: Windows 10 -  SIMnet and the keyboarding products are browser dependent, not operating system dependent.  So it will work on Windows 10 as long as a supported browser is used.

How does Office 365 work with Office 2016?
Office 365 is Microsoft’s subscription version of Office.  It provides users with access to the web version, Android and iOS app versions, and desktop version of Microsoft Office.  Microsoft Office 2016 is the latest iteration of the software that was released.  With Office 365, the desktop version will provide users with the full functionality of Microsoft Office 2016.  Students will need to use the desktop version to complete the Document Processing exercises in GDP due to the limited functionality of the web and app versions.

How does GDP work with Office 2016?
Within GDP, the new version of Office will only impact the Document Processing exercises; the other assignment types do not require the actual Office application to complete.  The students should be able to complete the Document Processing exercises in Office 2016 (specifically Word 2016) and submit it within their GDP account.    Please note that GDP does not support the Mac version of Office.
