Connect - Using the eBook

Step 1. You can access the eBook in three ways:
  • From the section home page (A)
  • From the library (B). The eBook will be listed in the menu on the left side of the page
  • From your assignment. If your instructor has enabled the eBook during the assignment, you’ll see a small icon of an open book in the assignment toolbar next to the question number.

Step 2. Once you’ve opened the eBook, take some time to explore the options. You can:
  • (A) Switch section within a chapter by clicking the blue arrows or the section dropdown menu
  • (B) Go to a specific page by entering a page number
  • (C) Navigate the book contents dropdown menu
  • (D) Highlight text, add your own notes, add a bookmark or print the content on the current page
  • (E) Use the gear icon to adjust the font size or hide book images
  • (F) Search eBook content using keywords

Step 3. To highlight eBook text, click and drag your mouse cursor over the text you want to highlight. Then click the highlighter tool in the navigation bar (A) and select the color you want to use. Click add highlight (B). To hide all highlighted eBook text, click hide highlights (C).
 
You can access your notes at any time in my notebook (D), where they will be organized by chapter.

Step 4. To add notes to a page in the eBook, navigate there and then click the notes tool in the navigation bar (A). Select the color you want to use and click add note (B). You can also hide all eBook notes by clicking hide notes (C).
 
A note containing sample text will appear near the top of the page (D). Drag it where you want and then click inside the sample text to write your own note. Remember to click Save Changes (E) when you’re done.

Step 5. To add bookmarks in your eBook, navigate to the desired page, click the bookmark tool (A) and select add bookmark (B). The bookmark tool also allows you to jump to specific bookmarks.
